Here is an example of what we'd get our volunteers to sign--it has the specific details and requirements of each bed. Please post your comments/changes here. I split them out into two teams since our class is gone for so much of the summer.

Knollwood Community Garden

Adoption Sheet for Peppers & Tomatoes Bed

Care needs for SPRING TEAM:
Ø Early April = plant tomatoes and peppers (transplant from 5 yr. preK classes)
Ø After planting, water every day unless it rains
Ø April – August = weed once or twice weekly; work weekly with Plot Managers to control bug population (search & organically destroy!).
Ø May = harvest as needed
Care Needs for SUMMER TEAM:
Ø June–late August=harvest as needed (every other day during peak maturity, usually July).
Ø Water every day unless it rains
Ø Late August = pull up plants, till and plant red clover for fall cover


Seeds & plants are provided. No tools are needed (intensive sq. foot garden dirt is soft and weeds pull up easily.) Training provided as needed.
